  • Exness's Standard account page lists a minimum deposit of $10.
  • Exness's Pro account page lists a minimum deposit of $200 - same broker, different account.
  • Any unqualified '$10 minimum deposit' claim is wrong for the Pro end of the range.
  • The minimum deposit says nothing about ongoing cost: spreads, commissions and swaps all sit outside it.
  • Rand amounts depend on the day's rate plus your funding method's conversion margin, so check inside the account rather than trusting a published ZAR figure.

The headline $10 is the Standard account only

Exness's Standard account page lists a minimum deposit of $10. That is the figure nearly every affiliate page quotes, and for the Standard account it is correct. It stops being correct as soon as you look at the rest of the range: Exness's Pro account page lists a minimum deposit of $200, twenty times higher. So the Exness minimum deposit is not a single number, it is a number per account type, and quoting $10 without naming the account is wrong for a good part of what Exness offers. Both figures here were read directly from Exness's own account pages rather than copied from a comparison site.

What the minimum deposit does and does not tell you

A low minimum deposit lowers the cost of finding out whether a broker suits you, which is genuinely useful when you are starting. It tells you nothing about what trading there costs. Spreads, commissions, swap charges and your funding method's own fees all sit outside the minimum deposit figure, and over any real holding period they matter far more than whether you opened with $10 or $200. We have not independently verified Exness's spread or commission figures, so this page does not quote them. If a page gives you a precise spread alongside the minimum deposit and cites no source for either, treat both numbers with the same scepticism.

Depositing from South Africa in rand

The minimums Exness publishes are in US dollars, so what actually leaves your South African bank depends on the exchange rate on the day and on whatever your funding method charges to convert. We are not quoting a rand figure here, because any number we printed would be stale within a day and a stale rand figure is worse than none. Check the converted amount inside your own Exness account at the point of deposit, where it is quoted against the live rate, and factor in your bank or payment provider's conversion margin. That margin is a real cost and it rarely appears in broker comparisons.

Regulatory Notice β€” South Africa

Regulator: Financial Sector Conduct Authority (FSCA)

Exness and XM both operate in South Africa through FSCA-licensed local entities.

Before funding an account, search the broker's exact registered entity name on the FSCA's public register rather than trusting a badge on their website.

Exness in South Africa - FSCA FSP 51024

Exness ZA (Pty) Ltd holds FSP number 51024, listed as Authorised on the FSCA register when this page's facts were last checked on 26 August 2026.

Exness (SC) Ltd - Seychelles, FSA licence SD025 - is the company named in the legal footer of exness.com/za.

Exness (SC) Ltd is also an FSCA-approved OTC Derivative Provider. A second local company, Exness Markets ZA (Pty) Ltd, has applied for ODP approval but is not yet approved.

The licensed local company and the company named in the broker's own legal footer are different legal persons, with different recourse if something goes wrong. Which of them your account is actually opened with depends on your signup, so check the entity named in your own client agreement before depositing - and confirm any number above yourself on the FSCA public register (Regulated Entities, then Financial Service Providers, then search by FSP number).

Frequently Asked Questions About Exness

What is the Exness minimum deposit in South Africa?

Exness publishes its minimums in US dollars and they do not change by country: $10 on the Standard account and $200 on Pro. What leaves a South African bank is that dollar amount converted at the day's rate, plus whatever your payment method charges to convert it.

Is the Exness minimum deposit really $10?

On the Standard account, yes - that figure is published on Exness's own Standard account page. It is not the minimum for every Exness account. The Pro account page lists $200. The correct answer depends on which account you are opening.

How much is the Exness minimum deposit in rand?

There is no fixed rand figure, because Exness sets the minimum in dollars. Any site quoting an exact rand amount is showing you a conversion from whenever that page was written. Check the converted figure at the deposit screen in your own account, where it is priced against the live rate.

Should I start with the minimum deposit?

Starting small is a reasonable way to test a broker's platform, funding and withdrawal process before committing more. Be aware that a very small balance limits what position sizes are sensible, and that trading costs do not scale down with your deposit. Never fund an account with money you cannot afford to lose.
